"Pathways to a Cure" is both our team name and a mission statement. In cancer research, we believe targeting the promotion and survival pathways of the cancer cell is the key to curing cancers. Just as in research there is often more than one pathway necessary to kill the cancer cell, in finding the cure we know there is more than one component necessary to get there. Education, research, compassion and philanthropy are all key pathways to finding a cure. Each one is represented by a color on the butterfly. The butterfly symbolizes profound change and new beginnings; just as the lives of our patient heroes do.
